Meet Evelyn 🏐

We reached out to Netball champ Evelyn to find out her take on the Just Play experience.

How did your Just Play journey begin?

I have been playing Netball since I was a kid, but after starting a new job this last year I found myself without a team or a regular competition I could join. When I joined Just Play I found a team to play with and got to continue to play the game I love!

Favourite Just Play moment?

My favourite Just Play moment was at the end of a really hard game where we lost by something like 20 goals. Though this was a harsh loss, I realised that my spirits were high and so were those of my teammates! We were all really proud of ourselves because we kept up with our opponents, kept our motivations up, and played hard at every pass. Our loss was irrelevant; the way we had played our game and worked together as a team was fantastic on its own.

Tell us about what it was like meeting your team for the first time.

Meeting my team for the first time was nerve wracking when I realised that everyone was a from a different age and skill group. But as we started to chat, none of that mattered because the common motivation was that we each joined this team to continue our passion of playing Netball, regardless of age or skill level.

Do you find Just Play easy to use?

I found Just Play really easy use! The website steps were simple to navigate and find the right competition for me (Individual player, mixed netball on Monday’s), in a location nearby. I also really appreciate that each week I receive a reminder so that I can make sure I never miss a game.

Would you recommend Just Play to a friend?

I have already recommended Just Play to several friends who are in a similar situation as me. They used to have a team in high school and are looking for a team while they navigate University and work. Just Play provides us really easy solution to place us with a team of other individuals so that we can continue to play the sport that we have always loved.
